As winter releases its grip and the first signs of spring begin to emerge, the Grand Tetons come alive in a way that’s nothing short of magical. The snow-capped peaks start to reveal patches of rugged terrain, and the valleys below begin to burst with life. This is the season of renewal, where every corner of the Tetons offers a fresh perspective, perfect for capturing through the lens.
Spring in the Grand Tetons is a time of contrasts. The towering mountains still wear their winter coats, while the lower elevations are carpeted in vibrant greens and dotted with wildflowers. Rivers and streams, swollen with snowmelt, cascade through the landscape, adding dynamic movement to the serene beauty of the region.
For photographers, this is a golden opportunity. The interplay of light and shadow as the sun rises and sets creates dramatic scenes, with the Tetons’ jagged peaks casting long, breathtaking silhouettes. Wildlife, too, begins to re-emerge, with elk, bison, and even the elusive grizzly bear making their presence known, providing endless possibilities for wildlife photography.
Whether you’re capturing the delicate blossoms of spring flowers, the grandeur of the mountains, or the first signs of new life among the wildlife, the Grand Tetons in spring offer a canvas of inspiration. Together, we’ll explore the best vantage points, discover hidden gems, and make the most of every photographic opportunity this season has to offer.

Expect warm pleasant days with cold mornings and nights. The weather can prove unpredictable in Yellowstone / Grand Tetons and can change on a moment’s notice. Remember some of the best photographs are made before, during and immediately after a storm cycle. There is no such thing as bad weather just poor layering and gear choices – please plan accordingly! Make sure you are prepared for rain and snow!
Day 1 Travel Day (Dinner will be provided)
If flying, arrive in Jackson Hole airport by 2pm. We will be traveling to Jackson Hole for a meet and greet dinner. We will be staying in Jackson Hole, Wyoming for our base location. Please meet in the hotel lobby and we will be going of gear and itinerary
Day 2 ( B,D)
We’ll get started early on our first morning, setting off pre-dawn to set up for an iconic sunrise location. We will then start looking for wildlife. In the Spring we’ll be at the Park during calving season, so wildlife like elk, bison, and pronghorn, among others, should be quite active. If you join us in the fall the wildlife will be beginning their winter preparations, and while we cannot guarantee sightings, we’ll nearly, almost guarantee wildlife sightings on this tour.
Day 3 ( B,L,D)
Is there anything more serene than a mountain landscape reflected in still, glassy water? This is precisely the scene we’ll be expecting at Schwabacher’s Landing, our sunrise location for this day. We will be touring the Tetons looking for wildlife and enjoying the view of the Tetons We will take a break and enjoy and nice lunch. Along the way we’ll look for Moose, Bald Eagle, Fox, Bighorn Sheep, and any other critter who might show up along the way. Dinner will be back in Jackson Hole.
Day 4 ( B,D)
This morning we will be going to my favorite spot. It is called Oxbow Bend. We will be arriving in time for the sunrise. You will be able to catch the refection of Mt. Moran on the water. Sometimes you are able to capture the steam coming off the water. This is also a great opportunity to catch birds landing on the water. We will be able to eat breakfast in the Tetons. After breakfast we will take the back roads to String Lake and Jenny Lake. Keeping an eye out for wildlife as we make our way back to Jackson for a short rest and to go over our images. About 2 hours before sunset we will do our last sunset of our trip.
Day 5 ( B )
This will be our final sunrise of our amazing trip. On our way back to town we will be looking for wildlife as we make our way back to Jackson for breakfast and our goodbys.
